1154 Meyer Recarpeted

In 1995 the Meyer Media Lab was remodeled and carpet was installed to provide sound dampening for the media workgroup stations. It has been 7 years since the carpet was laid and it was showing it's age with fading and tears in the carpet. This last December Computer Lab Management was able to install new carpet.
The job was larger than expected. The existing workstations had to be jacked up while the old carpet was removed and the new laid. Once the old carpet started coming up so did the original floor tiles, in pieces. The old tiles had to be completely stripped, the floor sanded and patched and the new tile installed.
The new tile consists of floor tiles with padding for additional sound dampening and we have plenty of extra tiles for future repairs. We are very pleased with the excellent job that Facilities did on the project.
