SecureCRT and MacSSH replaced Telnet applications
Computer Lab Management replaced the telnet applications in the computer
rooms with SecureCRT and MacSSH. These applications use the SSH2 protocol,
which is more secure than the telnet protocol. Telnet transmits all data
in the clear text, so it is theoretically possible for malicious users
to capture usercode and password data by capturing network traffic.
SSH2 encrypts all transmissions, so it make the computing environment
more secure.
