The Station is redesigned
Due to the unusually high traffic flow and large numbers of people waiting in line,
Lab Management redesigned the The Station at the MU this past month. The redesign
includes the relocation and expansion of space for supplies, the file server, and
the consultants.
The changes that were made include:
-
The six group or collaborative stations were removed. Few students
utilized these
stations as true collaborative areas.
-
Four stand-up stations replaced the group stations which will allow for
the
possiblity of two additional stations in the future. The other two stations
were moved to where the printers were previously located. The total number of
stations in the computer lab remain unchanged.
-
The printers were moved away from the entrance area, which enables easier
entrance into the computer lab.
-
The CRC area was expanded and moved near the entrance of the computer lab to
enable the CRCs to address clients with any concerns immediately as they enter
the computer lab.
-
The waiting area was moved to the back left corner of the computer lab which
will enable clients to enter the computer lab before deciding to wait in line.
