Beginning Summer Session 1, 2009, the Hart Media Distribution Lab will no longer offer video reserve or checkout services. Instead, the Reserves Desk of Shields Library will be handling all such course reserve material. Since the Reserves Desk has been managing print and media assets for Course Reserves for some time, this consolidating has many benefits to campus users.
- Creates a single repository for the campus-owned video assets.
- Improves search results as all videos will have complete library cataloging records, including subject data.
- Allows instrutors to keep both print and video course material in one location for student access.
As part of the transition, the Shields video collection will grow by more than 1000 DVDs and VHS tapes.
