Currently, Lab Management sees no reason to upgrade to Win98. The personalization of Win98 (the active desktop and channels) would not benefit the general or classroom use of Lab Management machines and facilites.
Win98 appears bloated and cumbersome to use. Initial testing suggests Win98 could be slower and require a considerably larger amount of resources. Lab Management may reconsider moving to Win98 if vital programs are written only for Win98 or hardware only runs with Win98.
