Summer 2008

  • Moved Apple iMac computers with Intel Core Duo 2.1GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, SuperDrive (CD-RW/DVD-RW) and 17" flat panel screen to 1101 Hart to replace older iMac open access stations.
  • Moved Apple iMac computers with 1.8 GHz G5, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drives, CD-RW/DVD-ROM drives, and 17" widescreen flat panel monitors to 1101 Hart to replace older iMac media stations.

  • Reconfigured stations in 1101 Hart. The changes include:
    • Added 3 PC and 6 Mac open access stations. There are now a total of 9 PC and 8 Mac open access stations.
    • Reduced the restricted access Multimedia Mac stations from 18 to 10.
    • Combined tape players into slide projector carrels and reduced total number of media carrels.
    • Created a space to install a Teamspot server. Teamspot will be installed during Winter quarter

  • Removed Adobe Acrobat browser integration.  We hope this will reduce problems clients have printing PDF files from the web.
  • Removed Euclid (VMS system) from the SecureCRT and SecureFX menus since that system was retired.

Spring Break 2003

  • Relocated the SurgeIV computer rooms to Hutchison
    • 75 Hutchison is equipped with 26 Dell computers and 11 iMac computers from 301B and 307 SurgeIV
    • 93 Hutchison is equipped with 33 Dell Optiplex 260 computers with 2.4GHz Pentium 4 processors, 512MB RAM, 20GB hard drives, CD-RW/DVD combo drives, 15" flat panel monitors, and optical mice.
    • 73 Hutchison was converted to a PC classroom. 5 PCs were added to total 36 stations and a projection system was installed.
  • Installed a printer in 1102 Hart. The computers were printing to the printers in 1101 Hart. This change was made at the request of instructors teaching in 1102 Hart.
  • Mozilla was made the default browser on all Macintosh computers

Winter 2003

  • Upgraded all PCs to Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1

  • Replaced Netscape 4.78 with Mozilla 1.1 on both Macs and PCs. Mozilla is the open source replacement for Netscape.
  • Updated all PCs from Quicktime 5 to Quicktime 6.
  • Updated Macromedia Flash, Shockwave, and Authorware players on all PCs.
  • Updated web-based print queue to provide more detailed print information to clients and to allow them to cancel their print jobs.
